Top Four Drivers of the Imola Grand Prix

Honorable Mention: Lance Stroll

As Vettel languishes in a long shadow of his former glory, Lance Stroll has quietly proved to be Aston Martin's reliable #1. It's still early, but if he continues like this his stock is going to rise. Unlikely he'll part from Lawrence so soon, but if he does get a better offer I wonder if he leaves.

 4. Pierre Gasly

Another quiet but brilliant performance from Pierre. Despite mind-boggling strategy decisions from AlphaTauri, he managed to rise back up the ranks and not finish too far off where he would have been otherwise. With Yuki out of the points, Pierre is an absolute legend for AlphaTauri.

3. Lando Norris

Consistency is key. Over the course of this rag-tag season, it's not going to be the individual performances deciding the championship at the end of the day. It's going to be the drivers who can stay out of trouble the most. Of those people, you can firmly say that Lando did the best job of that. Honestly if he were in a car on equal footing as Lewis' he may have won yesterday. Mega.

2. Lewis Hamilton

Speaking of which, Hamilton shows once again how he just finds a way to keep his head above water. While his teammate, even before crashing, had an abysmal race, Hamilton decided his fate would be much different. Despite the mistake that took him off track, Lewis still managed to nearly win the race in a battered Mercedes. Can't say its the car now.

1. Max Verstappen

I'm sure this will happen a bunch this year. As Max and Lewis really fight it out for the title, there's constant intrigue as to what will happen next. Max won today, but on another day it easily could have been Lewis. Or even Checo. Let's just enjoy this season as it happens. As is often true of new regulations, the current level of competitiveness is likely to decline.
