4. Lewis Hamilton



Despite not coming out of the race with a win or a podium, Hamilton commanded most of the race until being dragged out of first by a technical issue. There were really no flaws in his performance today, and he would definitely have won if his headrest hadn't come loose.

3. Fernando Alonso



2 points... And we're celebrating. That sentence more or less sums up Alonso's frustration with McLaren. This 2-time world champion driver who could be still with Ferrari at the moment, is reduced to celebrating a ninth place finish... But credit to him for staying focused with so little to fight for. (And for obliterating Vandoorne once again)

First podium before 20 doesn't sound too bad to me. Even if his career magically ended today, he could still count himself in the top 20th percentile of drivers who have podium-ed in the sport. Well done Lance, well done.

I haven't been watching F1 for more than 10 years, and if someone who has wants to correct me, please do, but I have never in my life heard of a lapped driver finishing second. 2nd!!! The safety cars and red flags no doubt helped him, but for accomplishing something I've never seen done before, Valterri Bottas is the #1 driver of the Azerbaijan GP.

5. 1977 Ligier What day is it? HUMP DAY! ( For those who don't get it ) This Ligier was interesting to say the least. The Tyrell 007 had a huge airbox as well and Tyrell was known for its crazy designs but Ligier just decided it wash't enough. General Driving: Smooth is fast, especially on tracks like Hungary and Malaysia. Leveling out your acceleration is better as opposed to  immediately getting fully on the gas, even though it may feel faster. If you're slow through a particular corner, try slowing more on the entrance or take a new line. Always change the braking to high unless you're using locking brakes. Pick a car that has steering that is compatible with your driving style. For example, I know the Mclaren and the Sauber don't fit my style, but the Marussia and the Mercedes do. If you know you're going to hit the car in front of you, hit it as close to the middle of it as possible, that will lessen the possibility of them spinning and more importantly, you getting a penalty.
