Top 4 Drivers of the Turkish Grand Prix

A wet-weather classic the likes of which have rarely been seen in the modern era of F1 has lead us down a tough path picking this week's top four. A lot of drivers failed in the wet (cough cough Bottas), but an equal number excelled. below are the four drivers that faired the best over the weekend:

4. Charles Leclerc

Leclerc's final corner will unfortunately define the way we look back at this race. This mistake aside though, his race on Sunday was no-doubt impressive. Ferrari's young prospect has proved time and time again that he's ready to race for the title, and this only adds to that repetoir. We can hope those mistakes don't hinder the charge to that title, but putting this troublesome Ferrari where it was all race long is still worthy of deserved praise.

3. Sebastian Vettel

Racing is cruel... isn't it? Barring one final corner it would have been Leclerc gaining all our praise, but alas the race isn't over until the checkered flag waves. In his place then, his often embattled teammate Sebastian Vettel returns to 'Top Four' for the first time in a while. After a blistering lap one, Vettel continued to fight to remain among the frontrunners. The pit window saw him sitting middle-of-the-pack, but after a fearless charge culminating on the last corner, Vettel was rewarded with a sweeping overtake of his younger teammate. He's sleeping well tonight.

2. Lewis Hamilton

It feels rude putting him here considering what he's accomplished. 7-times world champion comes around now *twice* in a lifetime, and it should be celebrated as the achievement it is. Even moreso, when it's all said and done he will likely boast the statistically greatest F1 career of all time. This drive exemplified that spirit. The race went very well for him, start to finish. It's a drive worth remembering for him; especially with Bottas treating the Istanbul circuit like a slip-and-slide.

1. Sergio Perez

Perez drove flawlessly on Sunday. Despite the Racing Points having the best pace on Saturday, you could see the difficultly with which they were keeping the car on track. Lance's afternoon in mind, Sergio's drive was a performance of a world-class driver. This tops the list because it managed to both be flawless and beyond expectations. We're unlucky that the Racing Points didn't win, but to manage a second place is a feat few other drivers could have matched.
