The Best F1 Videos on Youtube

1. The Silver War by Floz

An incredible recap of F1's recent history over a wildly enjoyable hour-and-a-half makes for Netflix-worthy viewing. It's honestly a shame this hasn't been picked up by a bigger network. Some of the content has been removed, but head over to Vimeo and you'll easily find the rest there. The tale is so well told; it makes it feel better than watching it live.  A classic addition to F1's canon.

2. F1's First Race at Silverstone by HistoryPoD

Hard to argue with some vintage footage of the first ever-F1 race. Its tough to believe just how far we've come, but watching those wing-less hollow body cars racing around Silverstone really brings you back. It's the kind of thing that belongs in a museum. But you can now watch it on Youtube.

3. 1998 CART - "The Pass

How many overtakes can you remember distinctly? 2-3? 4-5? Well, get ready to add another one to your list. in 1998 former F1 driver Alex Zanardi was racing hard for the lead in the last laps of Laguna Seca. Anyone who knows this track i'll be well familiarized with its famous corkscrew design. It's hard enough to do on your own, let alone two cars abreast, and made ever harder with the race on the line. In this heart-pumping 5 minute adventure the story of the final race of the 1998 season plays out in highly dramatic fashion. All culminating in what is simply known as: "the pass".

4. Top Gear Senna Tribute Video

How could you not love this? In 2007, Jeremy Clarkson lead an examination of the life of Ayrton Senna. The documentary reprises his life on the 50th anniversary of his birthday. I'ts beautifully written and designed, and really helps anyone unlucky enough to have not seen him in action to get an idea of what he was like.

Who doesn't love an old-fashioned disaster? Like seeing a bike roll down a hill, it can be hard to turn away from such a catastrophic failure. Such is the story behind the 2005 US GP. Whether you've heard the tale or not, S1apSh0es does an excellent job narrating this tale from a US-based perspective. Their insight on track layout and resurfacing will get any F1 fan hot under the collar.
