Top 4 Drivers of the Italian GP

What a day for Formula 1.

In the tumultuous times of the real world, and F1 living up to no one's expectations for so long, it's hard to imagine what this means to the people that follow this sport.

Without further adieu - let's get right into this week's rankings.

4. Daniel Ricciardo

Of all the names on this list, #4 is the most storied. That tells you all you need to know. The flying smiler did everything right in his Renault today. Even if they weren't able to secure the podium, running that close to the front of the grid and not looking out of place makes him one of the top drivers of the day.

3. Lance Stroll

You've got to give it to him. Every once in a while - he comes up with a performance you can't ignore. Baku, Montreal, nearly Monza 2 years ago, and now he's back in the thick of it. Overtaking at Monza has never been a fickle treat to watch, but with the moves on display tonight Lance deserves all the plaudits for his handy share of the points at the end.

2. Carlos Sainz

Ah, the difference between almost and glory. - .400. 4 tenths of a second from P1 are words Sainz will love to lap up in his remaining weeks with McLaren this season. WHile his foturnes on the horizon sit further away from where he is at the moment, no one would find fault with his current form as he takes McLaren's first second place in over half-a-decade.

1. Pierre Gasly?

Who else?! There are rarely moments where you can feel history happening before your eyes, but as Pieere got the better exit out of Parabolica, you could just feel the excitement building. This will be one's that's written in the history books. A deserving huge celebration is certainly ahead for Pierre and his team, and I'm sure after the emotion of Belgium he's feeling it even stronger. Well done lad.
