Top 10 All Time Driver Pairings

Rules for this list:

Drivers cannot appear more than once

In instances of a driver having multiple good teammates the list defers to the better of the two

This is just for fun, but these are all formidable lineups for any team to roll out

Only teams with two mostly active drivers would be considered: Sincere sorry to the 1960 Scuderia Centro Sud team that fielded eight(!) drivers in their ten-race 1960 campaign

The list:

* Some notes on the list

The lack of drivers from beyond the 90s can be explained in large part by the lack of repeat driver appearances (Rosberg/Button, Hamilton, or Alonso Massa) would likely be on the list if not for the repeat offender rule. There also seemed to be a clear trend towards a clear #1 and 2 driver post-Schumacher. (Hamilton/Bottas, Vettel/Webber, etc.) These factors may help to explain the gap after the 1990s.

Its no surprise to see formers Ferrari drivers represented most on the list, but in teams standings they sit level with both McLaren and Williams (2 entries each)

This list will likely balloon as time goes on, but it'll be hard to see any team duo topping Senna/Prost in the near future. However, with the increase in average individual championships for drivers that do reach the summit, its possible many new entries into the top 15 will be coming soon.
