The Best GP2 Teams of All Time

5. Prema: (Ity) 1 Title

Of course, this list would not be complete without the reigning champions. Pierre Gasly reigned supreme in 2016, and looks poised to enter the sport as soon as it allows him to. They finished a staggering 172 points above their 2nd place rivals Racing Engineering. They are yet to have a driver race in F1, but they do have one rookie for next year, Lance Stroll. (Also they're sponsored by KFC?!)

4. iSport International: 1 Title (GB)

iSport wins the tie-breaker over Prema on account of their impressively extensive list of graduates. Timo Glock, Karun Chanduk, Bruno Senna, Marcus Ericsson, Scott Speed, and Giedo van der Garde round out what has been an extremely successful feeder team into F1.

3. Barwa Addax Team.: 2 Titles (Spn)

The best non-French team on this list was founded long before GP2, in 1998. Two titles have come their way since the inaugural season of 2005. Notable Drivers: Perez, Pic, Petrov, Harayanto.

2. DAMS: 3 Titles (Fra)

France captures the front row with DAMS a close second to ART. They've since expanded into Formula Renault and Formula E, it's possible they may even make the leap to F1 sometime in the future. ND: Grosjean, Kobayashi, Nasr.

1. ART: 4 Titles (Fra)

This one was a no-brainer. With 4 titles out of a possible 13, ART is very much the Ferrari of GP2. Their notable drivers list matches their pedigree, just look at this list: Hamilton, Vettel, Rosberg, Bottas, Di Resta, Bianchi, Gutierrez. Not bad, not bad at all.

Honorable Mentions:
Rapax: 1 (Ity) 1
Carlin (Bri) (2nd twice)
Fun Fact, Carlin tied on points exactly in the 2013 season. Both drivers fell out of the points in the last race handing the title over by # of races won on the last day.
Russian Time: 1
