5 Best Titleless Drivers from Recent Year

5. Nick Heidfeld: I was disappointed when the then Lotus-Renault let him go because his career at BMW-Sauber was so great. He fought with Ferraris and world-champion Juan Montoya in his day and now races as a guest driver for V8 Supercars. He failed to ever win a race, but if he had been given the right machinery one can't help but wonder where he would have ended up on the all-time winners list.

4. Giancarlo Fishicella: If not for a simple electronic device know as KERS, he would grasped been Force India's maiden victory. He also served some time alongside two-time world champion Fernando Alonso at Renault F1. He reached a tally of 3 victories in his career, which puts him considerably high up on the scale of Formula 1 drivers, tied for 53rd best all time; with notables like Phil Hill, Johnny Herbert, and Mike Hawthorn also sharing the magic number three.

3. Jarno Trulli: He was a strong driver on Toyota along with Glock and even up until his exit from Lotus he was a good driver. He drove for greats like Prost, Jordan, and Renault. Despite his single win he had 11 podiums, averaged a point per race throughout his career, and had 4 pole positions. Truly a man who could have done more

2. Mark Webber: One has to wonder how his career would have been different if he had just won that championship in 2010. If he had, Red Bull would have favored him like they did Vettel, putting him in the position Vettel was in, in which he won 4-titles in a row and counting. Webber was an adept driver and was motivated to say the least. If he had been given one more chance, I have no doubt that he would have been a world-champion.

1. Rubens Barichello: Basically he was just unlucky. He drove with Schumacher from 2000-2005, the same years Schumi set his five-in-a-row streak. No other driver had to go against the best driver ever during their prime like Barichello did, and that was really what stopped him from getting that championship. He had another chance in 2009, but his much younger teammate Jenson Button got the jump on him in the first six races and he wasn't able to come back.
