This Dane has had nothing less
than amazing stats in racing. He cruised to a championship in his first ever open-wheel series appearance,
including a 73% race win percentage. He didn’t do much for the rest of the year
considering he had already completed a championship, but he did one race in
Formula Ford NEZ. Pole, fastest lap, and the race win all in what would be his
only race in the series. Possibly the most insane of all his stats though is
the percentage of series that he has raced in that he’s won. Over the course of
his career he has formally entered in 6 major series, he won the championship
in two of them, giving him a championship-winning season percentage of 33.333%.
He’s won 1/3 of the series he’s competed in. A better percentage than 4-time
world champion Vettel had before entering F1, who had 25%. Not to mention being
described by Martin Whitmarsh as: “lighting quick”
Why He’ll Make into F1:
Well, for starters, he’s
basically confirmed, but also because he clearly deserves it. His stats alone
are unbelievable, but consider how his greatest attribute, adapting quickly to
new series will help in Formula One next year. Since we are going to see
completely reinvented cars next year, drivers will have to adjust, which may
take 1-2 races, while Magnussen, having not developed an affiliation with the
old car setup and also with his incredible adaptation skills will give him a
slight edge for the beginning of the season.
