Up-and-Coming Women Drivers

Beitske Visser

As the first woman in the Red Bull junior program, she is a great candidate and clearly an exceptional driver. She is pioneering the idea of women at Red Bull and if she were to gain a spot there in the future, she would be the first woman on an F1 team that could win the championship. Her best chance to get a spot in F1 is if the driver that Red Bull will most likely get to replace Webber in 2014 fails to impress.

Maria de Villota

Unfortunately, the last time she made headlines was because of a major crash in which she lost her right eye. However, before that, she was a very successful driver, competing in the World Touring Car Championship, Spanish F3, and the Ferrari Challenge. She's probably the most experienced woman in top level racing that has raced an F1. She was a third driver for Marussia last year, so if it wasn't for the accident, she would probably have been in Bianchi's spot right now. Tragically, she probably can't be in F1 because of her eye. However, it was probably said that women could not be in F1, so why not those with one eye?

(Rest in Peace Ms. Villota, your strength will never be forgotten)

Kathrine Legge

A current Indy Car driver, she is an a great place for getting into Formula One. Unlike Danica Patrick and Simona de Silvestro, she isn't fully into Indy because she's actually not that far up the field there (don't quote me on that, I don't know that much about Indy). She was at Minardi (as shown above), so she knows a thing or two about the game of F1 so expect her name to come up again in the future.

Vicky Piria

The first ever female Gp3 driver makes her inherently special, but beyond her unqiueness shines her talent. Whilst her endeavor in Gp3 did not prove successful, she demolished her teammates and was the only Trident driver to compete in all the rounds. She currently races in F3 at the still-ripe age of 20. While Gp3 may have not worked originally, her chances at an F1 drive are still very alive.
