Esteban Gutierrez 5/10: As you can see from the rating, he really hasn't been good or bad, and that's why he's been bad. Allow me to explain: as a rookie, you have to excel. Its when most F1 drivers get the most publicity, it's kind of a cruel system, because it's when you have the least experience, but that's just how it is. You might mention Perez, and how it was his second year, but that's because he drove exceptionally well. It is true not impossible to move up in a different year than your first. Anyways, that's why Gutierrez hasn't been that great. He has been mauled by his teammate Hulkenburg, and became the first person to be penalized for a crash. The beginning hasn't been going so well for him, especially considering his current championship position of 19th. He could start to get better and become a 10th place kind of driver, but nothing more mainly because he's not going to be able to outrace Hulkenburg.
Giedo van der Garde 3/10: Ok, call me harsh, but he has been terrible. He has been constantly about 1-3 places behind his teammate. It may not sound like much, but the difference between millions of dollars and no money is one position right now, so... I won't rant about it, but he really does need to start doing better, otherwise he'll be replaced by Kovalinen before the season is done.
