There have been many talks about the teams at the back merging to preserve their place on the possibly 10 team Formula One grid. But, is it a good choice? Well, first off, it means that their staff and money will be pooled, which will make them a force to be reckoned with. There won't be any sponsor conflicts, so with Caterham's massive backing and Marussia's creative and talented crew, Catrusssia would be a team that could easily find a place in the midfield. Plus, they would automatically gain money, even if they finished last, which would put them in an even better position. While Scorpion or other candidates might join the field, they would probably be in last place as Virgin and HRT were.
If they just chose from their current drivers, their line up would probably consist of Bianchi and Pic, which would be a great team. In short, their merger would help the teams, but would erase a rivalry on the field which is more interesting for the viewer. It would be interesting to see how it turns out since mergers don't happen often in Formula One.
