Red Bull: Vettel Vs. Webber
“Not bad for a 2nd driver”. That quote pretty
much sums up Webber’s experience at Red Bull with Vettel. He’s done enough to
boost RBR to the Constructor’s Championship, and grabbed a handful of wins, but
he really hasn’t been too exceptional and has even been pressured by his own
team to get faster. Vettel, on the flip side, is the 3-time world champion who
had one of the most spectacular comebacks even in F1 in 2010, dominated in
2011, and had an amazing comeback in 2012 as well. It just doesn’t add up. Red
Bull shouldn’t be worried though, because almost every driver in F1 would
transfer to Re Bull without a hesitation should they need to get rid of Webber.
The clear winner is Vettel.
Ferrari: Alonso Vs. Massa
One word: Alonso.
Mclaren: Button Vs. Perez
Perez moving up to Mclaren was not what I expected at all. I
would have picked Hulkenburg because of his consistency. However, obviously I
don’t have a say in that, so here we are with Perez in a Mclaren. Perez is
talented, don’t get me wrong, however on the flip side, he is inconsistent. For
every major up in the last two years (both podiums, first race) there has been
a matching down (Suzuka 2013, Monaco 2012, Abu Dahbi 2012). Anyway, usually it
takes at least 2 years for a driver that moves up to a competitive team to win
or compete for a championship, but Button did it in one, so it is possible.
Mclaren have a good chance this year, and hopefully for them Perez will be more
consistent so they can go for the Constructor’s Championship, but Button will
be the prominent driver for Mclaren in 2013.
