4 Best Drivers of the Australian GP

4. Fernando Alonso

Well, this is nothing out of the ordinary. Alonso had a great race, being consistent and finishing in the top 2, he conserved his tires, and managed to pass both Massa and Vettel. His pass on Hamilton was exeptional and ran the race completely clean. His starts are increasingly impressive, as he rocketed up the field from fifth into third within a few corners.

3. Lewis Hamilton

While he did lose two positions and completely ruin his tires, his drive was no less impressive. He held off the front-runners in an inferior car and stayed ahead of Rosberg. Although I think Rosberg was conserving tires to ensure good points (funny how that turned out). Anyways, he did a lot to defend his position, especially against Alonso, and battled throughout the course of the race. The interesting part is that he still gained more points than both Mclaren drivers put together. (10-2 respectively)

2. Jules Bianchi

This guy definitely has the makings a future world champion. He finished in 15th while last year's Marussias finished 14 and 15, but with 6 retirements as opposed to 4 this year (meaning with the same amount of retirements he most likely would have finished in P13). His fastest lap was 11th fastest of all the 22 drivers, only .045 seconds slower than Vettel's fastest lap and only 1.18 seconds slower than the overall fastest lap. His teammate  Chilton was 2.963 seconds off the pace. It showed in the race, as Bianchi was lapped only once, and Chilton was lapped twice. As if that wasn't enough, his start was like that of a much more experienced driver, getting extremely close to the next driver without crashing or damaging his wing.

1. Kimi Raikkonen

Who else could stand on top of the driver of the race podium? He won the race, set the fastest lap, and did it all on two stops, what more could he have done? He started in P7, and barely anyone tipped him to win. Basically, his win came down to tire conservation. He was able to maintain a decent pace, while still conserving enough to make a 2-stop strategy possible. Kudos to Raikkonen, winner of the Australian Grand Prix and my pick for best driver of the race.
