First Look-STR

So here's Toro Rosso's 2013 car. Last year, it had a horrible season and was barely scoring points. So one might assume that they were going to step it up for this year. However, look at the car. Put a step in the nose and straighten out the wing in the back. Remind you of anything? This car is almost identical to the Caterham.   Not to say that small changes in F1 can't make a big difference, however of all the cars to be close to, Caterham might not be the best choice. Anyway, on to the car and the predictions. The car has the panels on the side which are promising, considering Force India employed them in Brazil and nearly came away with their first victory. The rear wing looks similar to the one Williams tested out in Canada in 2012, it didn't continue farther than qualifying because it was considered to be slower, however since it has not really been used in a race, it could go either way. They used the straight down connecting pieces for the front wing. The air intake is circular, like the Caterham. The most advanced part of the car, it seems, is the nose. Mercedes and Williams have similar noses. Those are teams that STR wants to catch up on, so at least that part seems like a good thing. Overall it seems as if Toro Rosso has made a move in the right direction, but only slightly. I would expect some good racing between Williams and Toro Rosso next season.
