They've got the staff. They've got the money. They've got the drivers. So is this the year of the Mercedes? Well...no, but they've made a significant step. Last year, their main issue was with understeer, and this year, they've taken wing design to a whole new level (see below). Now, I might be a bit biased because Mercedes is one of my favorite teams, but I think next year (2014) and going forward Mercedes has a ton of potential. They have Ross Brawn, who won a championship in only one season, Toto Wolf, who is a great addition, Patty Lowe soon, the quick Lewis Hamilton, Rosberg who is consistent and contains tons of potential. Put that on top of being backed by the people who invented the car, and that's a force to be reckoned with. But enough about the team. I've already mentioned the innovative front wing, which is most likely a good thing. It has 'hunched over' sidepods with the flaps on top, similar to that on the Force India. The ramps next to the driver is more pronounced than in the other cars. Overall, it looks pretty unique, which makes it more or less of a wild card.
